A user needs to delete unnecessary files, images, and documents in order to free up additional space.

But, what if you delete some of the important documents accidentally? What if some of your precious moments (pictures) are lost forever?

Fret not, there are several recovery software utilities available for Windows (Mac as well). We have picked – “Disk Drill” as a recommended software utility to help recover deleted files from your SD Card and HDD from a Windows powered system.

In this article, we’ll talk about the way by which you can utilise this software to recover your deleted files and a quick review of the product at the same time as well.

Quick Review

The User Interface

It offers a quite simple user interface. When considering its look, a user would love the simple design for being an easy-to-use interface. In addition, it boasts a modern touch to the interface as well.

If you have Windows 10 installed, Disk Drill would simply blend in with your default user interface perfectly.

Features

It wouldn’t have been an interesting product if it would simply help recover deleted files without powerful options. So, in order to ensure a faster SD card recovery process, a unique (or useful) set of features comes baked in with the software.

Surprisingly, Disk Drill works on almost every type of file systems one may have – NTFS, FAT32, EXT, ExFAT, HFS+ and more.

You can either choose to recover or undelete the previously protected data. You can generate an entire backup of a volume as an Image (IMG) file which can be restored later in a single click.

It also provides you with the ability to scan your lost documents or files through a quick scan and a deep scan mode of options.

Software Performance

It is not a resource-demanding software utility. Disk Drill works with ease without any hiccups. We even tried allocating a single core and mere 1 GB of RAM in a virtual environment to test its limits, and guess what? It works like a charm!

There really isn’t anything else to talk about Disk Drill’s performance, it’s super fast, bug free (At least for me), and dead simple for day to day usage.

Plans & Pricing

The basic version of Disk Drill is available for free but comes with certain limitations. You only get a 500 MB limit of free recovery with the basic version.

Fortunately, the software utility will show you the complete preview of the files that are to meant be recovered (the exact recovery size irrespective of what plan you’re on). So, if you think those files and documents are precious to your use, you should consider upgrading to the pro plan for just 49 USD in order recover them completely.

If you want lifetime upgrades, it would cost you an additional 19 USD. On the off chance, if you are an enterprise user, you can upgrade it to the enterprise version for 299 USD with lifetime upgrade support included.

Overall, it’s a very simple to use recovery software for Windows. If you are looking to get back some of your precious files that’s packaged under 500 MB, you could easily get the job done with Disk Drill’s basic version.

If you’re not sure about upgrading the software, you can simply preview the files which can be recovered. If that’s sufficient, you should head on to upgrade the software. In our review process, we didn’t find anything annoying at all.
